Current Openings in the Orchestra at Temple Square

String Sections

Several openings are available in the viola, cello and contrabass sections. Auditions for these positions are being held as applications are received. While there are no current openings in the violin section, openings happen regularly. Inquiries regarding openings for violinists are invited.

Contact the Coordinator of Auditions (see below) regarding these or potential openings in other sections of the Orchestra.

Auditions

Auditions for the Orchestra at Temple Square are held on Thursday evenings throughout the year as openings in the Orchestra arise. The most timely announcements of specific or anticipated Orchestra vacancies are published on this page of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir website as well as notices in the weekly Church News section of the Deseret Morning News.

Audition appointments and materials including an application form and the music required for the audition can be requested by e-mail to Ed Thompson, the Coordinator of Auditions, at the following address: EdThompson_OTS_Aud@comcast.net.
