The performing venues for the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square are the Salt Lake Tabernacle (left) and the Conference Center (right). Most of the weekly broadcasts and rehearsals take place in the historic Tabernacle, for which the Choir is named. Finished by the Mormon pioneers in 1867, its remarkable acoustics provide an ideal setting for the Choir and Orchestra. Daily recitals are also given on the magnificent Mormon Tabernacle Organ. When a larger venue is needed, performances are hosted across the street in the 21,000-seat Conference Center, which was completed in the year 2000.

The Choir's weekly live half hour broadcast Music and the Spoken Word is the nation's longest-running network program, having run continuously since 1929. The broadcast takes place every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. in the Tabernacle on Temple Square. Those wishing to attend should plan to be in their seats by 9:15 a.m.

In June, July, August, and December, the broadcasts are held across the street in the Conference Center, which can accomodate the larger summer and Christmas season crowds. Broadcasts are also held in the Conference Center during LDS semiannual General Conferences, which take place on the first Sunday of October and April. Admission on these two Sundays is only available to Conference ticketholders.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearses every Thursday evening in the Tabernacle. Unless otherwise noted below, the rehearsals are open to the public. Doors are opened at 8:00 pm and the rehearsal concludes at 9:30.

Organ recitals are given daily on Temple Square by the Tabernacle organists and by specially invited guest organists. The recitals begin at 12:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday (2:00 p.m. on Sundays). From Memorial Day through Labor Day, recitals begin at 12:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. (Sundays at 2:00 p.m. only).

 		The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square present the Pioneer Day Commemoration Concert in the Conference Center auditorium on Temple Square. Mack Wilberg, music director, will be conducting.

The evening will showcase the choir and will also feature the entire Osmond family, including the Osmond Brothers, Donny, Marie, and Jimmy. The program will include a variety of songs for which the Osmonds are famous, as well as the choir and orchestra performing traditional Pioneer Day favorites plus American folk hymns and songs. The concert will be a retrospective of the Osmonds' musical legacy featuring musical highlights from throughout their careers and video passages from their past performance, taking advantage of the multimedia capabilities of the Conference Center.

Free tickets are required. Because of the anticipated high demand they will be distributed through the random selection process used last year for Christmas concerts. Registration for the selection process will take place from Saturday, May 24, 2008, at 12:01 a.m. through Monday, June 2, 2008, at 11:59 p.m. For more information, please follow the link below.
